Galvenston ticket..lol

so was wrote a ticket for "failure to control speed"

off duty called in and said 2 bikes one with passenger(with pink shirt) was riding Way above the speed limit on the causeway

we were pulled over half way down 61st by an on duty....

1st...no plates were given, no speed was given, no video....only passenger has a pink shirt

2nd they wrote the court day for the 27th of march....which is a Sunday...

now im pretty sure im getting this dismissed since there was like 600 bikes with a few with pink shirt wearing passengers and have no evidence proving it was me considering the off duty didn't even describe my bike or helmet or anything really besides 2 bikes and passenger has a pink shirt on.

but what do i do about the Sunday court date?

That'll get dismissed no problem. Besides the identification problems you mentioned, both cops (the off-duty and on-duty) will have to appear in court. And the off-duty cop has no way of actually measuring your speed.

EDIT: The on-duty cop didn't clock you with his radar, did he?

Call the court and verify the date. It would be a shame if you have to deal with a bench warrant bc the officer puts a different date in the system knowing Sunday won't fly.

Yup I didn't read it til now. Says to give written notice to contest by that date. Nice trick knowing well most people will forget or shy away from doing that

Thats an easy one. There have been plenty of rulings against this.

They used to do one cop on an overpass radars and another pulls you over down the road. They dropped that tactic. Too many got dismissed.

It used to be real popular on 225. Deer Park did it years ago.
