My Experience with BikeBandit

This is an informative thread about an experience I had with BikeBandit.
Please DO NOT comment with "should have gone here" or I always take my stuff to "XXXX" sponsor.

I placed on order on the website for a Teknic Violator 1pc suit a few days go. Two days go by with no confirmation, then I receive an email saying that they had cancelled the order because the manufacturer was out of that suit in my size. No problem, not that big of a deal. When I called to inquire about what happens next the CS rep tells me that they cancel the order and my money would be returned within 24 hrs. I ask if I can switch my order to another suit in my size, "No, there's nothing you can do about it, just place another order later." Fine. CALL #1. 36 hours later, still have a hold on my account, I call again. "Sir, we will release the funds in 24 hrs." NO that's what you said 36 hrs ago. Let me talk to the billing/accounting department. WORD FOR WORD, "They don't take calls, and no one else is willing to take your call here." Dumbfounded, I settled for an update email if and/or when the funds cleared. I proceded to send this email:

ATTN Customer Service Supervisor:
I ordered a Teknic Violator suit from the site a few days ago. I recieved an email saying that the manufacturer was
out of stock of the suit and that my order would be cancelled. That email was prompt and to the point. No big deal. However,
when I called to inquire about the order and how it would play out, they said it would simply be cancelled and my funds would
be released after 24 hours which is standard policy. The CS rep made no attempt to offer me a comparable suit, and simply said
that the cancellation was my only option. The 24 hour period has since expired and my funds are still tied up. I know this because
I made a THIRD call today to find out that the billing department hadn't even been notified as of noon! Not only do I not have a suit on
the way that was listed on the website, but my funds for a new suit are still tied up where there's "nothing" I can do, and no one else
"will take my call" according to the rep. The sad thing is that up until today, I was still considering ordering another suit from your
company. It's surprising with how cut-throat the aftermarket motorcycle apparel business is, and how non-chalant I've been treated.
An explation email on why your policies aren't being followed would be expected at a minimum, so I wouldn't have to share my
story on the local rider's forum, CMRA, and WERA boards.

A few days later, and I still have no reply from them in a phone call, or email. You can make your own choice in who you buy from, but I believe customer service like this should be put on display to save another member from MH having to deal with this situation from a lethargic company.

I know there was alot of info on there.
The point about the funds, was that they said they would release them (Not that bank would release them, I realized this) in 24 hrs.
When I called back the 3rd time, after 48 hrs, they said the billing department hadn't even been notified!

That's what really fueled the fire.

Reading comprehension FTW. One of the points that he is making is poor customer service.

thanks for sharing. . .only reason I've ever used bikebandit was for their parts fiche and to confirm part interchangeability.

Just another reason why you always pay for mailorder/internet stuff with a credit card. Not a debit card, not a money order, not a check , etc, etc. Then , the ball stays in your court till you have your stuff.

Call your CC company and let them perform a chargeback...let them deal with it. Or even better yet, you can call them to confirm whether a refund has even been "processed". I had a similiar situation to yours with a motorcycle business that gave me the run around for over a month saying they have (or will) refund but never did...I had to call my CC company to do a chargeback. Looking back at the situation, I should have just done that after a few days and not waste my time and energy on someone else's sloppy/devious accounting.

I think so too. It's not like I was asking for any free or a more expensive suit for the same price. All I want is an explanation.
