wife and i are starting to think of relocating there. only a hour and a half away from astoria......

Well you just never know.......
I'm not fond of Portland, but the surrounding areas are nice, homes are still reasonable but the weather can be a drag. My Dad lives about 50 miles SW of Portland.

what's weather like mostly?? I can't stand the heat been here for a long time but i still havne't got used to this heat.

They have been having HOT weather..........but lots of rain and temps between 30 and 90 normally. You can get some snow and ice in the winter but usually not much and it doesn't last long.

Summer is awesome! Alot of people can not handle the wet season though. Although is has been alot dryer up there.

Get into the fishing and crabbing stuff out there. Good money. May be tuff for you with the wife and kids though. The guy I stay with did one season of crabbing in Alaska and was able to buy 2 homes in the city and now rents them out.
