Just pointing out the futility of the OPs question. The opinions given will vary widely as a result of the aforementioned factors.

And we're both . I'm just not pretending I'm not.

No Sir, that is where you are wrong. I am not jerking off, I am being jerked off by a lovely lady, which even though it is the same concept, it is different. I guess you could say it is relative

Spies was fast for not having ridden some of those tracks.
This wasn't meant to be a match over GP riders though.
You and Grinchy have enough of those threads.

This is directed more at the average local guy.

I think that if you are fast you are fast anywhere. Now you will not be the fastest unless you spend time practicing, knowing the route/track, etc.

yes , that is what I was trying to get at .

Cool

Being fast in racing terms to me , means being skillful in rding, knowing the course layout, knowing turns, braking, shifting tecniques , when to pass , when to draft , applying presure to the rider \ riders in front of you , taking advantage of openings , knowing other riders strengths & faults , knowing your own limits e etc ....
Wouldn't say all I said is true , heck I ride a cruiser now.

+1

Fast is a result of knowing your bike and your abilities to make it go where you want it to.

Learning a particular road by repetition is a false indicator of skill set, putting someone on an unfamiliar road and seeing how they do will tell a lot about their skills and "fastnest"
