Unhappy Help! goblins in my R6

Bike: 06 R6v

condition: Stock engine, new battery, oil is at level.

issue: everyone once is a while my bike is on it likes to do two things-
1) if i pull in the clutch to approach a light the revs drop down to dead rather than dropping to idle..it happens rarely, but its annoying. after it dies it starts right up again and rides fine. i did tighten up my EXUP valve cables and have yet to test to see if that fixed it.

2) once in a while, usually after the bike has been sitting (but the engine is still warm) i turn the key and i get a blinking oil light and a dim or no neutral light and the bike wont start. if i pull in the clutch, the neutral light will get a little brighter (or dim on if it wasnt on to begin with) but the bike still wont start.

3) my two solutions: 1) push start it and it runs fine after that 2) wait a little while longer and see if it starts up

the bike starts up cold just fine. any ideas? im so confued by the gremlin in my bike.

Thanks folks

-Bryan

2 different issues:
#1 probably just an idle adjustment.
#2, check you battery cable connections for corrosion amd make sure they're tight. Check both ends and the starter relay as well.

Thanks for the input Patrick.

I did trickle charge and check the battery a few days ago. Didn't help

I will check the starter relay.

Happened on my son's 07 r6 as well, turned out to be a bad battery, without full voltage it will not idle correctly, after it warmed up and charged the battery a little it would idle correctly, replaced the battery and it never happened again

Good to know, but it still doesn't explain my starting issue

I had the same symptoms on my 1098 last year, my mechanic came over and told me it was the oil pressure switch sensor, i got the new part, installed it myself and it fixed the problem!

The r6 doesn't have a oil pressure sensor, it just senses oil level. Go figure.

its an oil level light not a pressure light, so if our bike lost all oil pressure the light would never come on because it just measure oil level in the oil pan, the sensor is on the left front bottom of the oil pan, kinda scary to think about the motor could loose all oil pressure and no light would come on and you could just drive it without knowing.

his oil level is fine.... on the duc it was the faulty oil pressure sensor switch that triggered the oil light to flicker when coming to a stop.
