Police Chase just ended

The guy was running for a simple traffic violation. Remembering that HPD had a policy (which was also cancelled) not to chase for traffic stops, the guy ran.

Anyhow, that policy was cancelled.

Regardless though, Harriss County never had that policy, so he was screwed anyway.

A simple ticket (class c misdemeanor) now turned into Felony Evading for this 20 mile chase.

Don't think you can run anymore...

evading arrest is a misdemeanor (sp?), unless you got the worst lawyer in houston.

Sheesh he should know better. You don't run in a minivan. What a dork.

SlapahoWake,

How did you get caught? And your right it is a state felony to run in a vehicle.

evading arrest with motor vehicle is a felony and they can confiscated the vehicle. I had it happened to me on a bike. I am still fighting to get my bike back. It happened in Jan 14, 2006.

I knew some idiots out there will take the no chase policy and put it to work. Shows you guys & gals not to take the policy seriously. If the police feels a chase is dangerous, they will back down otherwise, it is open seasons for lawbreakers.
