first fail

I recently purchased a 2010 R6, and have come to realize that the throttle is a whole lot different than the GSXR 600 I have ridden before. My wonderful husband thought it would be better if I took his GSXR out today for a little practice. I went down :( luckily it was while I was at a stop sign, but now I feel horrible for the bruises on his bike. Got a bruise on my knee to, but now I just gotta get back on and try it again. I hate right turns!!

if I am not mistaken, the throttle on the yammy is a fly by wire vs. a cable throttle on the gsxr. just pick it up and keep going.

Ashley, it happens. Wear your gear and practice in a parking lot. The one over by Strack middle school is good. Take care.

Thankfully you only ended up with a minor injury. Gotta keep practicing though. Don't get discouraged, and stick with it. We'll practice again tomorrow

I'm very thankful, but now I've broken in the first fall. Thanks everyone for the support! This time I refuse to give up so easy. I've got my stella boots on order and will be picking up some more gear soon to protect my knees. Hope to hit the streets soon.

I had alot of trouble with turns too. A friend of my daughters told me to stop 4 or 5 feet from the stop sign . It gives you more room to make the turn. This really worked for me. Hope this works for you.

Glad you are ok, I was having the same problem on my r6 too. I have been taking it out as often as possible for 20-30 minutes at a time around the neighborhood. Lots of corners and lots of turns. I have been feeling much more comfortable every day.
Hopefully we will get to ride together in the future.
