route planning, out of Brookshire

Anyone recommend a good route, if I was say, on a certain rd, just North of Brookshire, and wanted to head back over to Hempstead?

I plan to check it out either way, figured there are enough peeps that have been around that area might know where to avoid? Maps aren't really clear so far as gravel and such.

For instance, FM3318 to Diemer, good or no? If not, than P38 to 331?

I like to ride loops, and not backtrack over the same roads unless I have too..

thanks!

I recently rode a route last sunday thru brookshire and it was the best riding experience i have ever had on my bike. We started at Brookshire then to Bellville to Industry to Fayetville to Round Top to Burton then to Brenham....Dont know the exact route cuz the leader of the pack had a map with our route pre-planned.....if u go to Google.com u can see a pretty good map of this area and make ur own route....Like a said B4 best time i ever had....the roads were just stupid curvy at times and there were alot of straight aways to open it up as well. The roads seemed to be in good condition tooo....good luck and dont get lost or run out of gas...

Yup, there are a couple "famous" spots out there.

Guess I'll take me a look see and plan me a little ride. I have a loop more or less planned, just have to firm up the particulars.

I "like" curves.....

Nope he was not with us.. Our ride was long as though, up through Brookshire over to 290 down to 6 to 362 to I10 to some road above katy mills to 99 down to crab river road all the way to MSR and back. I'm tired as but it was fun.

This route begins on Fry Rd/529 and ends on 362 going toward Brookshire. I'm not sure exactly where you are starting from or what your destination is but this is just my suggestion. One of my favorite routes was riding through 1489. That route ofcourse is planed for another day. Have fun and ride safe bro.

Brookshire

Thanks for the map! I'll have to check that out.

Just curious, about how long does that normally take?

This route is about 148mi. It should take you 1.5 - 2 hrs to complete.

Well, I'll check it out this weekend, either way. I am on NW side, and have a friend up arond Magnolia, so I am planning a loop that starts and ends somewhere in the middle.

We'll see, thanks!

You left out Burton in that route. You have got to ride the road we call Bobs Road. FM2780. It looks like you took some good routes that look similar to my roads map I created a while back. FM1488 is a blast for the 2 miles that it is.
