Something ICON did on a jacket of theirs I had that would be nice in other street jackets is that they had a loop with a button to secure the back of the jacket to your belt/pants. Kept the back from creeping up.

Adjustable closures for the wrists. Sometimes you want them to go OVER short cuff gloves, sometimes you want them to go UNDER gauntlet gloves.

The back of the jacket should come down a little lower than the front to cover your crack. I see way to much crack on Houston streets. Most of the jackets out these days are designed to be at your waist line while standing up rather than bent over your bike.

The aforementioned loop helps with this too.

Inconspicuous reflective piping. I don't wanna look like a Beemer rider but I still wanna look like a squid and the added safety is a plus.

i think it would be spectacular to see a backpack integrated into the jacket. like the ogio no drag type pack that clips on to the jacket where the straps would go. i know that a backpack isnt as good as a tank or tail bag, but i still wear one about 75% of the time i ride

My suggestion is not really about the options current jackets offer but rather something that affect us all during the summer heat.

I think the real innovation would be to create a synthetic material tougher than cow hide but a lot cooler and lighter. my suggestion is that Instead of making jackets you should invest your time and effort in producing the perfect raw material with a greater application and market potential.

+1 to everyone... awesome thread

How about this: put a small UV light in the tail (with a switch on the bars/dash) and use highlighter ink on the jacket...

ink is hard to see until you turn the light on...

pull in front of the soccer mom who doesn't realize she's a danger to everyone else, press the button and your jacket reads

HANG
UP AND
DRIVE
