Track bikes on 149

So I am riding home from TWS (Texas World Speedway) yesterday late afternoon. I am at the light at 149/1488. there are 3 cars in front of me along with 4 harley riders and there is a truck behind me. Heading towards pinehurst I see 4 guys on sport bikes. Couldn't tell what they were. 2 bikes were legal and the other 2 were not. One bike had the headlights covered in tape as the other bike didn't have any lights at all. WTF??? They passed me and the 4 harley's and the 3 vehicles in a no passing zone. Again..WTF?? They were going at least 100mph. I don't get it. Has anyone else seen this?
Track bikes belong on the track!!!! No wonder we get a bad reputation...

Yeah. Pretty much.

Say you're one of the said dudes doing so. You're buzzing down 290 and 130mph at night. I don't see you in the fast lane. I pull into yer lane right as you're about to pass me.

Game over.

no headlights at night is suicide, i agree. but a quick daylight spin on a trackbike does not "give us a bad rep"

One bike was orange. Another was red/black. Another one was white. Can't remeber the 4th one. I was just wondering why. I didn't know if it's common or not. First time I have seen track bikes on the road.

i used to ride my track bike on the street, i rode it to school actually. i'd never think about riding with no lights at night though.

I saw you said one bike had some tape and one looked like it had a track upper, but were there REALLY no lights?? Reason being, I have also seen people slap on some streetfighter kind of lights to the forks and rear, very small and hardly noticable, to ride their trackbike on an occasional ride. Did you see if they had lic plates also?

FYI-I'm not saying these riders actions were okay by any means, just pointing out that I've seen "track bikes" on the street.
