Anyway, sorry to hear that it happened. Went down a few weeks back--no damage to me but my wallet felt pain. Lesson for all here is to always call police to scene of an accident even at risk of a citation to oneself. At least you have an official record of what happened and should someone have "fake / no documents" they would get popped on the spot.

Another reason to never participate in a group ride with people you don't know and trust.

First off, I totally believe the OP got screwed and he deserves some insurance money.

That said, it talk .

I've seen this same thing a thousand times. If the OP gets dollar one of old boy's insurance I'll buy him a track day. You don't have a case. The ins. Co. will win. It's not that I don't sympathize with you, it's just that I know the reality of the situation. You're screwed.

Some time and effort, that could be turn into a wild custom bike... we need a variety of fabricators to step up though, metal and fiberglass.

CLIFF NOTES

OP got in a wreck caused by a guy supposedly named Carlos
"Carlos" gave false information and is an all around suspect person who rides out of formation regularly
OP said some slightly racist and a few people got butthurt, and some took OP's side (most of the pages come from this)
MH stepped up and really hooked up the OP with cheap parts and free labor
We're waiting to see how the bike turns out

oh yea, and Helios keeps saving the thread but not really.

I did not approve this picture and will be taking this racist A**hole, "Fred", to court.

And while we're on the subject of false information.. No one knows "Fred's" real name.. I think this guy is a criminal and this whole thing is a conspiracy!

Really sucks what happend, maybe a few hard lessons learned for everyone that reads this thread.

1. Might help to know people you ride with, he could have done more than just damage the bike, you could be in the hospital or worse DEAD

2. make sure if something like this happens, no matter the situation call and make a report of it.

I am not sure how it works with him cutting you off and then, slamming on his brakes. I know I would be one pist off raging lunatic, had this happend to me. I would have gone after more than his insurance. Especially pulling a bone head move that could have cost you your life. Then to miss this idiot and him not be thankful and saying pretty much screw you. You have more patience than I do.

You left out an important detail. Carlos made no actual contact with Fred.

Title for your book should be... Moron vs Moron.

Sorry, Fred... Continuing not to call the police makes you a moron. You can still call them!!
