Questions about first track day.

What's the difference between groove union and fastlane? Or more specifically the difference between the two for your first track day?

I was going to sign up for my first track day at gss. Have some questions. First few is gear. I got a frank tom xti 2pc suit, sidi fusion boots, gloves I have are old alpine stars given to me by mudbug, they have wrist protection but are pretty worn now. I don't have a back protector yet and think its a requirement so any recommendations appreciated.

Do I need anything other than ^ as far as gear.

Tires, both are mich road 2. Fronts fine I'm sure but rears a slightly cupped.(Can send pic message of tires, can't post pics from my Droid).

Will bring tape for lights, signals, plate, mirrors.(or do day before)

Will bring extra gas and minor tools, sockets.

Will bring food,drinks.

Anything I'm forgetting? If theres no real difference between g union and fastlane ill be signing up for either march 19th or 20th with fastlane. so if anyone else already planning on going that day can you show me around when we get there? Thanks, max.

Fastline is the new name of Groove Union. They are having track days at other venues than GSS now. Tim/ Godsuki and the staff are awesome!

Thanks dudette!

Same people, different name.
I'd highly recommend a back protector. If this is your first day, then I know they will help you out with gear. Look into getting one of your own if you plan on doing this a lot(you will ). As far as the tire goes. Would have to see it. As long as it's not severly flat spotted or has cords showing, it should be fine for beginner day.
See ya soon!

Awesome thanks. I'm gonna get a back protector and a new set of gloves. I think the tire will be fine. Hope to see you then. Probably gonna go with Sunday the 20th then.

I will be there for the weekend. GSS is a great track for your first track day. You should have a blast. I look forward to seeing you out there. Let me know if you have any questions. Welcome to the addiction.

Bring water specifically to drink.

Shade (ez-up or similar) if you've got it.

Earplugs.

Most people wear under armor under their leathers (both top and bottom) to help the leathers slide off.

I've always had Dianese back protectors. They're cheap, and they work.

Plummer,
Go here for the Fastline dates. http://www.fastlinemcs.com/

That's the calender to go by. Fastline is not tied to Groove Union any more.

If you don't have an EZ up etc you're welcome to pit with us. We've got EZ ups, coolers and sometimes pit when Miranda and Fal are around.
