KATY BEWARE hariis county constable Harley COP

He is running a beat south of I 10 Cinco Ranch, Mason road area. This pulled me over for nothing today. He was running the opposite side of Kingsland just west of Mason road. Saw me on my fireblade (I was doing 35) He whips it around pulls me over. Says my fender eleminator is illegal. I have all my , license, insurance, but no sticker for inspection. Dude goes back to his bike, starts writing me a ticket. I'm starting to get really torqued. I think he expected me to be a kid before I pulled off the helmet.
Some background. I'm pushing fifty years old. I have been riding bikes since 1970. I own 5 different bikes now and never had any trouble with the constables where I have live. I have payed their salaries for the last 20 yrs. Now I have been popped for doing stupid in my life but this cat was just gunning for bikers. He wasn't around to see the big stand up wheelie down 99 the day before. I was doing NOTHING WRONG
When he comes back I said "is that a ticket!" Cop responds yes. (Do not try the following at home, I'm not only a trained profesional, but I'm an old white man and am not going to take from a dude my sons age) I went off. I told him he wasn't ticketing me for , just hasseling bikers! That he must be some kind of self hating jewish .!! I said that I had seen him the day before flicking lane changes, enjoying his bike now he was my zen. He starting wining about "he had to inspect his bike and so should I" Cop handed me back my and started walking away. . Whatever. Anyway if you are in this area, (just a few blocks from my house) and see a white constable (large variety) mid late 20s mid 30s on a harley, turn around, he has a hard on for bikes. I have to wonder, if had been on my harley, would he have even looked my way Cant read his name on my ticket or I would post that.

Tell us how you really feel!!!!

I hate to hear that the cop was a total doucher. I have been hearing cops are pulling bikers over more frequently for nit picky like fender eliminators and such. I was also told that you have to have at least 2 reflectors on your licsense plate. That's something I didn't know. Hopefully you can maybe fight the ticket? Let us know how it goes.

Eh? Why are you so caught up on his age anyways? Is it impossible to respect someone your son's age equally as much as someone your own age? Sounds like you got really lucky with just a ticket.

hmm... fender eliminator 'illegal', ticketed for no inspection sticker. You start getting 'torqued'..

by your post, I think you were more worked up/uptight than the cop. If you're pushing 50, see a doc about that blood pressure.

Yeah your right. I don't think he would have been fired for giving me a warning. I pay them to patrol my neighborhood. it was a block from my house. But I guess you like living in police state. Hang um high brother

Here is a much bigger question....what good does a state inspection sticker do? What bikes, exactly, does it keep off the road? How does it actually protect the public?

Hmmm, blue light for high beam, hi low headlight, working rear brake, tail light, brake light, tread on the tires, a mirror, and a horn. That's it.

What kind of comic book bike doesn't have that basic ? I can get a honda fifty inspected with $20 worth of J.C.Whitney catalog parts and a set of wall mart fog lights, a bike speedo, and an oooga ooooga horn.

I've been paying my LEO's salary since the day I was born, actually we've all borrowed a lot on our country's good credit to keep paying his salary. He should focus on making the world a better place, not hassling good people for revenue generation. Law enforcement would be easier if the laws made more sense. So I'll quit complaining and write my representatives yet another letter.

I had the same thing happen to me riding to work in the morning a couple of months ago around bw8/gessner. Exact same scenario except he just gave me a warning for no inspection sticker. I considered myself lucky for not getting a ticket. Although he did say my fender eliminator was OK to have and it is the type that is tucked way under the tail. Funny that he was a harley constable too, but was an older black gentleman. He did tell me he was pulling over motorcycle riders that day to check credentials. Also told me I was the first one he pulled over that had an M on their license. I do live close to Katy, Thanks for the heads up.

We have enough problems with the youngsters making asinine posts like these. Grow up.

Don't like the law about having to have your bike inspected? Fine. Write to your local representative, start a campaign, do whatever you want to get it changed, but until then, it is the law and if you don't follow it, you may get a ticket. Pretty simple.
