You'll need:

ZX9R swingarm (02 and up are braced and look better to me, mine is an 03)
ZX9 axle and spacers
ZX9 rear caliper, hose and bracket
ZX9 rear rotor
3/8 spacers for the axle and rotor. The rotor to wheel offset is just that much off from the 12, and the swingarm is wider
Or you can use the ZX9 wheel. I have one and it is close in appearance to the 12, but not identical.
ZX9 shock or aftermarket Penske or Ohlins (which Ohlins no longer makes)
The 12R reservoir will hit the brace, but if you use an unbraced model it will clear

The front pivot off the 12R is used and is a bolt in.

Your black and gold one is pretty much perfect. I'd love to also have a bike like that where I can do it all. Comfy, fast as , and able to play around when it gets curvy.

Patrick wants to try and fit some convertibars.. that would make it almost perfect.. last thing on my list is a true electronic cruise for the long rides. Throttlemeister is good, but I want better.

And even geared like it is (-1/+2) it has seen 170 on a GPS with some left....

I'm fine with clip ons. It's my knees that have been giving me problems on 300+ mile rides . . . . and I'm around half your age. Electronic cruise sound absolutely wonderful though. . . along with some black PC'ed rearsets like on your black and red one.

OT, when did you get a 636?!?!

I've got helibars on the 02, which help alot.

I've gone back and forth on doing the brackets black, can't decide. The slash cut pegs are 1/2" lower on top but give 1" more bottom clearance than the stockers.. win/win for us with long legs...

The 636 appeared summer of last year to replace the bosses Hyosung.

Best road test on the two, head the head, the Busa was down 2 mph. Since 2001 all sold here are factory limited to 186. So, my statement of stock production bikes, unmodified, stands.

Not talking Texas Mile, or aftermarket exhaust, tune etc. Buy it and run it 100% stock and do better than 194-196.

Which road test are you quoting...?

Take your pick:

Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 191 mph
Kawasaki ZX-12R 187 mph

2. PERFORMANCE BIKES [June 2000]

Top Speeds
------------------------------------------
Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 190.3 mph
Kawasaki ZX-12R 188.9 mph

3. SPORTBIKE MAGAZINE [June 2000]

Top Speeds

4. MOTORCYCLIST MAGAZINE [June 2000]

Top Speeds
------------------------------------------
Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 184.2 mph
Kawasaki ZX-12R 183 mph
[Elevation 2400 feet above sea level]

Top Speeds
------------------------------------------
Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 196 mph
Kawasaki ZX-12R 194 mph

6. BIKE MAGAZINE - UK [May 2000]

Top Speeds
------------------------------------------
Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 189 mph
Kawasaki ZX-12R 180 mph

7. AMCN - AUSTRALIAN MOTORCYCLE NEWS

Top speed.
Hayabusa = 302 kph
Zx-12R = 297 kph

8. BIKE MAGAZINE - Sweden [Not Bike mag from the UK]

Top speed
-----------------------------------------------
Hayabusa = 297.8 km/hr
ZX-12R = 293.7 km/hr

9. SUPERWHEELS [Italy]

Busa - 191.6 mph
ZX-12 190.4 mph
