crr/be safe

Went out to crr yesterday with the boyfriend and before we ever made the Crabb River Road exit a Fort Bend County Sheriff already spotted us. By the time we made the turn onto CRR another sheriff was directly behind us and he followed us all the way to Brazos State Park, then we turned around, and he followed us all the way back. Needless to say we were doing the speed limit the whole time (we were going to do that anyway since the boyfriend is still somewhat new). We were also told at a gas station by another officer that they are tired of cleaning up bike wrecks out there. So I just wanted to let everyone know they are watching and to ride safe out there

I was out there all day yesterday. I was mowing one of my properties. I saw the po po all day. Should have pulled in and said hello. They are bad. Once people stop going out there for a while it will lighten up. They know it is getting that time of year.

Drove out there on Saturday. Was in the HOV lane with a friend cruising on my left. Doing 67 in an 65. Sheriff was on the shoulder, passed him in single file. He followed us to our exit (CRR). Probably just ran our plates for priors...

There are 1-2 LEO's on Crabb between 59 and Thompson (train tracks) every day. If you take a left at Thompson (2759), make a right on YU Jones, then 2.5 miles and a right on Smithers Lake you will bypass a bit of 99, get the LEOs off your tail, and have a nice bit of country riding and some nice sweepers by the power plant. It takes you back to 99 at George Ranch, about 2 miles south of the track, past most of the LEOs.

Just type "Sun Ranch" in google maps and you'll see the route in yellow.

It's not like public highways are any kind of secret...but ya, guess I did.

I like this road on a motard, good 40 - 70 MPH corners, no LEO presence, and a good back road from my house to my country place in Thompson.

Ok, I rode Crabb again today and actually stopped and examined a tar snake. The stuff they used is soft and stretchy, like rubber cement. You can actually peel small pieces of it off of the road.

If you ride over one in a turn, just maintain throttle and body position and you'll be fine. The bike's going to move around a bit so it's probably not a good idea to ride fast enough to drag a knee.

How do you "drag a knee"? Won't that hurt?
