KBB is full of / wildly inaccurate.
Go to NADA.com, it's more realistic and it's the only source the banks, finance companies, insurance companies and the auto / motorcycle industry use, PERIOD.

Patrick its only off by a few hundred. Its about the same.

Here so you can compare the kbb to the Nada. I use both sites for all my used needs.

Motorcycle/ATVs
2005 DUCATI
Road/Street
749 DARK BIPOSTO
Low Retail Average Retail
Base Price

$7,280 $9,580

TOTAL PRICE $7,280 $9,580

Motorcycle/ATVs
2005 DUCATI
Road/Street
749 BIPOSTO
Low Retail Average Retail
Base Price

$8,195 $10,780

TOTAL PRICE $8,195 $10,780

Motorcycle/ATVs
2005 DUCATI
Road/Street
749 MONOPOSTO
Low Retail Average Retail
Base Price

$8,980 $11,815

TOTAL PRICE $8,980 $11,815

The 749cc isnt listed on Nada.com all the 748cc's were. Nada Doesnt list everything.

The prices are not that far off, people still haggel down. And buying at retail, or 3rd party prices vary. So you can go and change the options and get higher or lower numbers. Pretty much for used bikes at retail they are all close. They also vary based on low and high prices as to the condition of the bike/car. No one wants to sell a bike or car the lowest price. Just like no buyer wants to buy it at the highest price. We all look for the good deal, thats as simple as it gets.

First of thanks for the replys!
we kbb him at around 7k which he won't go for so I'm asking his permission(left a message on his phone) to help him sell his bike on this forum and give such info as a vin# to see if any are interested.
oh yeh its a dark

Im not his salesman im just trying to help a coworker out. if he(the cust.) wants my help, you will make the deal with him as in the dealer makes no money on the deal I just set it up. He will want cash b/c he has to pay it off.

off topic what the fk are these smilies??? I dont get it

i agree. i work with insurance adjusters all the time, and they mainly work with nada. a lot of body shops and used auto sales go with nada, not kbb.

He might consider that offer.
I will have to ask him tomarrow what he is aiming for.
I know he ows more than that, but that is a very reasonable price

Clyde,
I was actually asking about it for you!

Nate,
If it's a dark, I'm assuming it's a Biposto? (Has a passenger seat)

XxNaSDaQxX,
Actually NADA does list all of the models, and typically KBB is higher by at least a few hundred dollars, if not more. Actually as a dealer I should prefer KBB values, esp. when pricing our sale bikes, but it's just not right.
