RIP rider on 610.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A motorcycle rider is dead following an accident on the 610 North Loop Sunday.

According to Houston police, witnesses say there were several motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic. One of the vehicles reportedly side-swiped a vehicle eastbound near T.C. Jester. That rider lost control of his motorcycle, slid several meters on the concrete and hit a construction sign pole.
The rider, who's only been identified as a 21-year-old male, died at the scene.

Police say alcohol was not a factor and the rider was wearing a helmet. No one else was injured.
RIP to the fallen.

Weather is starting to get nice again, RIP threads will increase. EVERYONE BE SAFE AND SMART OUT THERE!

I saw him on the ground covered with a white sheet. His shoes were showing and I can't get his shoes out of my head.

RIP and prayers for his family.

Condolences to his family.

It's a shame that for a few minutes of "excitement" and the rush of adrenaline, this guy paid with his life.

We all take our lives in our own hands whenever we saddle up. Careless cages can take your life at almost any intersection or highway and gear, brakes and experience aren't worth anything if you decide to play russian roulette on two wheels.

This rider was the son of a HPD officer. I know his uncle. RIP to the rider. Uncle used this as a warning to tell me to give up sports bikes.

I hate it when people try to use others' poor choices as a reason why I should/shouldn't do something.

Giving up sportbikes won't keep one alive forever, the same could have happened if the rider had driven a car in the same manner.

I will, however, learn from this rider's mistake. RIP to the fallen, everyone out there ride within your limits- there is a time and a place, and 90% of the time the street is NOT the place!

there was also another rider down in the new caney area. My friend saw it all happen. He told me he was headig home from his moms house with his wife and kids. He saw a couple bikes going fast and passing up cars weaving in and out. At this point my friend was because they put his family in danger. Well they tried to pass a eighteen wheeler turning and it was to late. One bike w/ a passenger ! hit the 18 wheeler and Biker cracked his skull. My friend gave the police report and the bikers admitted they were drinking at a bar before. They deserved what happen, can't say I feel sorry for them.
