only transportation?

Anyone else have just their bike for transportation? I bought my bike and 2 weeks later totalled an 04 Ranger Edge, and didnt really care cause I had my bike. Now months later I'm kinda wantin another truck but it will make money tight for a few months until I get some Credit Cards paid off. My wife just got an Accord, so we got that payment too. I work 2 jobs, one from 8-5 and the other from 530-1045, and all that bein on the bike and bein sweaty and stinky for meetings and stuff blows. I dunno, I guess I'm just lookin for advice.

Flame or advise, your pick,

Doyle

Had only a bike for about a year. It was cool but wouldn;t do it again if I didn;t have 2

^ word. right there with you...

lol. i got a camelbak mule. hydration to keep me cool, and plenty of room for axe, stick, hair stuff, mp3 player, plus whatever else you feel need to survive in the urban jungle. you can fit a change of clothes in it, and all in all, its a pretty slim pack...

...the funny part is all the weird looks you get at work carrying around a bag with a tube sticking out of it...people just dont know what it is...

cheryl gave me a funny look the other day and was like "omg..are you getting high off that thing?" lol.

when i bought my bike, my plans was to commute with it so i won't put more mileage on my lexus, but i find myself drivin the cage more than ridin.....i definately suggest a car also. just buy a $1500 car with good a/c to get you from point A to B....there's no need to get yourself stuck with another payment.

I have a change of clothes at my work place, but after a long ride home it's not pretty when the gear comes off. With two jobs and those hours it's hard to wing it especially with the second one as that's rush hour/traffic.

A friend picked up an older 89 civic hatchback 5sp for $500, runs/drives, and has A/C and won't even consider selling it. Perhaps look for a $500-$1500 beater car for those rainy days...

I have a 240sx with lots of done to it but it needs a ton of work and so I've kind of given up on it and let the registration/inspection/insurance lapse on it, and it needs a few things to be able to drive right now (missing some important things) so I pretty much only have the bike.
but my GF has a new toyota she just got so I pretty carpool in to school with her almost everyday.

What is life working all the time? How do you have the time to ride or enjoy the moments? Sell the bike buy a car. When you are doing better financially then get a bike. So, how much do you want for your bik? JK.

hey i got my weekends man, besides I'm just doin the 2 job thing to pay off some credit cards and stuff, plus jub numero uno promises frequent and substantial rases, so once that all kicks in i wont need 2.

and, THE BIKE WILL NEVER BE SOLD!

I didnt have wet dreams about bikes for like 8 years just to get one and get rid of it. Riding is in my blood.....but so is procrastination and convenience.

been there, done that.
sell bike and get only car if riding is just a pastime for u.
if u LOVE riding the way u say u do, then get a cheap- car alongside. u wil feel a lot more comfy. i know i did.

Commute everyday on the bike unless it rains.

However, my car was broke down for a couple of weeks and I was 'stuck' with the bike (yeah, boo hoo).

You don't need any advices. You know what you wanted already. If it is in your blood, rain, snow, or shine, you will be on the bike, right? IF the answer is no, get a car. It is not in your blood. Weekend is for the wifey unless you want someone else to take care of her for you. Taking her to the movies, shopping, or whatever that you two used to do.

I have had a bike exclusively for nearly 4 years now. As long as there isn't ice on the road, I'm out there. (How often does that happen?) Love it. Just be sure to plan things out as suggested earlier. Change of clothes, water, etc. Riding to work starts the day out great and eases a troubled day at the end.
