Inspection Sticker?

I have searched and couldnt find results. So keep the awesome comments to yourself unless adding to the discussion. I am getting my bike ready for the riding season the plate that supposedly that has to be mounted really puts strain on my fender eliminator kit and with the angle of it, it clears my rear tire by roughly 4 inches. not saying the rear end will have that much travel but this is houston. Is there a law saying that the sticker is to be located towards the rear of the bike (ex:on the swingarm) or will a cop give me grief for it. I would venture to say if I did get pulled over I would be one of the few to have all my paperwork in order (license, registration, inspection, insurance). If so who does inspections near the galleria that will put the sticker on my swingarm.

Thanks in advance
Nick

I have mine on the swingarm on the 02, and under the seat on the 00 next to the plate. Haven't had any grief over either yet, but I don't make a habit of getting pulled over..

knock on wood.

it technically is to be visible from the rear

in the 6+ years of ridding i only got hassled about it not being on the rear once.

I just avoid the possibilities of hassle, and leave it on on the little bracket under the plate facing the rear. Even with being legal..... to me it isn't worth the bs of getting stopped just to check to make sure I'm legal.

It's supposed to be at the rear of the bike

It's the cops descretion where the rear of t bike is

Most importantly don 't whine if a cop uses that as an excuse to pull you over

The words of the law is "Inspection sticker has to be near the license plate". It does not mention being visible or any such notion. Doesnt mean a cop wont pull you over for it though.

The law reads that the Inspection sticker has to be visible from the rear and lighted. I have been a motorcycle inspector for about 20 years. I'll put it anywhere you want it but you ceretianly might get grief from some of the officers out there.

Source?

The only thing I can find says "rear of the vehicle near the license plate". Nothing about being lighted or being visible.

everyone ive ever heard of getting pulled over and harassed about it the cop has told them it has to be in the rear. whether thats actually true or the officer was just giving them a hard time, id put it to the rear just to avoid another reason to be pulled over.
