I'm on the fence about it's looks. I'm not even sure if the bike knows it's a cruiser. If I was in the market I'd probably take this over the vrod though.

i dont like it, i think its great they're shaking things up but they're confused on how to make the cruiser appearance. imho it doesnt compare to the vrod even remotely, its more comparable to the Street Triple... The front end has that "grasshopper" look that cruisers never share with the Standard class.

maybe so, i just cant see it specifically appealing to any of the people that ride Cruisers though, its like they're firing toward their regular crowd and hoping they'll like it.

i think that is more targeted to people that like the monster, i think that there is a fine line between the monster, the streetfighter and this one. I will have to ride the three of them to see which one feels better for the daily duties.

The riding position definitely looks more monster than stereotypical cruiser. Then again, I'm sure I read somewhere that the monster was intended to be Ducati's inroads into the cruiser market during the nineties. Maybe Ducati realized that an overpriced practical motorcycle didn't really capture the "magic" which attracted middle-aged men on salaries to cruisers in the first place. They really want an incredibly overpriced, less practical motorcycle.

If you look at them at the price per pound they are pretty cheap. Why get a 400 lb bike for 12,000 when you can get a 850 lb bike for 20,000? LOL.

Ducati is a niche market, they arent building that many of them...compared to the vrod at least...It's not meant for everyone, but the few riders that do get them I'm sure will attest that its the best cruiser money can buy! I've sat on one and heard one they sound badass with the Termi exhaust. If I could afford more bikes I would not buy it anyways only because its not my style.

I actually really like it. I want something sporty thats not so naked, not so much chrome styling as a cruiser, and looks good. I'm not a cruiser guy but if I wanted to go on a laid back type of ride I would definately choose this.
