It's riding like you've never done before....Well, i don't know that for sure, but we hit these roads about a month ago and it was ridiculous fun. Dangerous, livin' on the edge kinda fun. Not the type of pavement for new riders (unless you ride level headed and don't mind taking a seat in the back of the pack). , we drove 175 miles from Houston to that area and then unloaded the bikes. Definitely a long haul if you plan on riding from Lufkin.

For the one's who have gotten invitations from me:
The decision has been made use the same starting point as last years Fall IBI. So, the 2006 IBI ride particpants will meet on 10/28/06 at the
Comfort Inn, 2001 Sidney Baker Street (Hwy 16), Kerrville, TX 78028 - (830) 792-7700.
Comfort Inn location

Houston late Friday & staying in Kerrville that night, please make your reservations soon-its only a week away.
Same for your Saturday night only stay in Leakey.
**(edit - if you're coming to Leakey on Friday (two-night stay), leave as early as you can. If you are arriving after dark-(1) make sure you call your innkeeper in advance on how to get your room key. (2) be VERY careful on those roads coming in;there's alot of wildlife roaming around at night.
We'll be at the Frio Canyon Lodge Friday nite, and probably leave for Kerrville about 7:00 am Saturday morning. Frio Canyon Lodge location )**

Arrival time at the Comfort Inn start point will be Saturday, Oct. 28th between 8:00a to 8:30a, pre-ride meeting at 8:30a, with KSU between 8:45a to 9:00 am.

There will be at least two groups, one for the riders interested in covering alot of road in the shortest amount of time, and a moderate paced, two-up group. The latter bunch will have a shortened route, which will get them into Leakey about mid-afternoon. (A third group is possible, if needed).

The lunch stop will depend on final route selection for each group: the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool seems to work as a good stopping point, but there are also some good BBQ stops in Leakey & Medina.

After the ride, dinner will be at the Frio Canyon Lodge, with the menu described earlier in this thread. The restaurant controls food and liquor on the
covered patio until 8:00p, but after that it's ours. Door prizes (of course), and the movie will to be The Worlds Fastest Indian, "The Doctor, the Tornado & the Kentucky Kid" .

Post up (or PM or me) if we forgot some details that need 'xplainin'.

Otherwise, see you in Kerrville!
I'm headed out Friday morning! See ya.

I was thinking early next year, I got a week planned for Chicago and with the holidays and , I'll be busy. Clyde was saying something about not riding until January too, so we'll see.
