Yes I raced the Tx Shootout for the first several years.....atleast until they started moving them to San Antonio and the other tracks it was going to....

Problem was, there was no class for me then....(or now)...... Only thing I could really race was Street ET which sucked because I hate bracket racing. Back then, the only heads up class was SBS and you needed to run bottom 8s just to make the field.....I was running 9.teens stock wheelbase.... I was hoping/trying for a heads up, stock swingarm class but CD didnt feel there would be enough participation.

I still loved the Tx Shootout series though....the comradery, the competition......the battles between the The Goose and Tejas.......CLASSIC battles man......I'm dissappointed its not here anymore.

TEJAS MOTORSPORTS
Did you know that Tejas has one of the best tuners in the United States cranking out big HP numbers on our Dynojet dyno? Yea that's Billy, and if you want to run at peak performance lets us tweak your map!

Hey I got that 5th piston in there didn't I? That's why it's making the power it does.....one of my ole racer tricks.....just add a piston....and leave a few bolts out for weight savings...

And they're going to do what? Wasn't this a $24k bike? Minus $10k for the bike itself. -$2k for the paint. -4k for suspension/swingarm. So... that's a $8,000 motor give or take a couple grand. Will Carolina Cycles take care of this outside of a new head and cams? Why did they fail? Poor workmanship on the lathes?

... sorry, bluewave18.

:-(

Its about 24k total, but your prices are off.

Carolina is going to warranty replace the cams (750.00). They have not yet agreed to replace the worn buckets at no cost (80.00 ). They have agreed to re-shim the valves and reassemble the head. I'm pretty sure they will go ahead and cover the buckets though (fingers crossed). They said they want to see the damage first. This is NOT their fault. It is the fault of Web and their cams. I'm guessing the lobes are not the proper hardness. Either it was bad welding or bad heat treating or a combo of both. I could test the hardness of the weld build up but who cares? Now I need to buy all new rings, valve cover gasket, base gasket, head gasket, oil, filter, and stud washers now.

Of course my prices are off. I just pulled that out of my . The point being... that's an expensive motor.

Do you mind if I asked what numbers it put out and what you were expecting? I'm curious how far apart they were.
