My folks used to have a Yamaha shop, the factory pays them to assemble and set-up the bikes, shipping is extra though. They were trying to sodomize you at Mancuso's, buy somewhere else.

I bought a Hayabusa in Chicago for $9000 OTD. Paid by check. they held it for 2 months, then I had a friend pick it up. I went up 2 more months later and rode it home. What I signed was via fax. Having to be physically present is not a requirement.

Dealer FEES....

Assembling the bike out of the crate is included in the invoice price. You don't pay for that a second time, that's just another way for dealers to get extra money out of you.

If they want processing fees, tell them to off. You should be out the door for less than $100 over the price of the bike, if they want more they are just putting it in there pocket...

I saw that craigslist ad a few days ago, got very excited. I called the guy right then, it's already sold. Good eye though.

Just an update Wild west has a few. $4600OTD

and Mainland cycle center $4270 OTD

I'm looking at a few low miles SV650's also for a little less. So it's sv vs klx250sf, I still haven't sat on the klx yet.

Question: I found a really nice condition SV650s but it has a small bend in the front wheel, doesn't seem to affect it. Is this a saftey concern?

Dealers charge you dealer fees so they can pay for shipping the bike to the dealer and so they can pay there techs who took there time to take it out of the crate and put together and anything that came with the bike that wasnt on it they put it on.

It is a requirement just not one all dealers follow. I tried to buy two new Japanese bikes (Honda and Yamaha) last year and each time I was told the same thing. This is only for new bikes. Called a Kawasaki dealer on ebay that was selling a KLX so I could get another quote for the OP and they told me the same thing.

You're getting robbed. If you're paying cash tell 'em to shove their fees up their and go somewhere else. Cash talks. It tells fees to go themselves.

Cash is king, but at a dealership they make money off financing and kickbacks from the banks...they don't really give a if you have cash or not.

They also get bonuses in the form of per-unit kickbacks, flat rate kickbacks and an increase on their allotments for vehicles that they are allowed to purchase.

So a cash sale is JUST as important as a financed sale. And turning over a unit is often times superior to making monies on the front or back end.

Depends. A bend in wheel is indicative of the bike have hit something, so who know what else might be tweaked. Best have someone check it out with you or take it to a reputable shop for a once over.

NEGATIVE!!!!

All those fees are already calculated in the price of the bike. Read the fine print and invoice document it's all on there. I worked for a dealer and assembled the new bikes when I was younger. If they are charging you additional fees it's all PROFIT!

Again, it's just BS by dealers to make extra money....
