hi beam blowing fuses

So my hi beam quick about a week ago. Fuse was blown. Put a new one in and it blew when I turned the key on without high beams in the on position? All wiring is stock aside from an accessory light for the license plate light from a fender elemenator. Where to start?

It's an 08 Gsxr 600

stock bulbs?? id start there check your wattage ....

start by trying to trace the highbeam positive wire back to its source. I'm guessing that it's could be possible pinched somewhere, lost a bit of insulation and is hitting some metal or frayed.

check the service manual and find out where the source of power for the highbeams is, and bypass it with a temporary piece of wire, to see if the fuse blows. The only other thing that I can think of is a problem with the highbeam switch itself. This could probably be ruled out by seeing if the flash-to-pass switch blows the fuse when used or even the low beam switch

traced the wire and think ive found where the short is.. where the wire harness from the left clip on clamps the the frame just behind the trees. probably from turning lol. new poblem is getting to it. i can see junction clip on it between the radiator and air box. gonna have to pull the air box just to undo the clip to get the wire where i can get the wrap off. thanks for the tips. straightened the bars put in a new fuse and worked fine, pass switch also, turned the bars and the fuse blew.
