I love my 04 750. Think of it as a Sports Tourer. Just did aboutt 250 miles of backroads yesterday. Its got good power and a simple reliable engine.

Before being completely out classed by the GXR the Katanas were basically considered sport bikes. I owned one briefly a year ago it is a good reliable bike (The engine is a tried and truely reliable design) it does require the standard valve adjustment, its a great beginner bike that will not be quickly out grown. since you have been riding it should prove lots of fun, Plus you can find them cheap.
I think in 2002 they made second gear stronger a weak point in earlier years.
Many are 600 and from what I have read thats a bit under powered stay with the 750.
I think its 460 pounds and 90 some horses

Thanks for the info. I saw a 2005 for 3K so that may be a good buy.

Your picture though made me think. Don't let the policy wonks in washington see that or next thing they will be requiring seat belts.

+1

Get a Bandit 1200 motor, throw a 1216 or 1277 kit in it, some good head work w/ +1mm valves, 91-92 GSXR 1127 cams, Some 40mm Kehin CV carbs and you have a very comfy, fast, 160-170+rwhp sport tourer...... And no one would know whats in it till you spank em....

Ofcourse you'll spend $4k to do it all but.....

I had a 2000 750. If you want any kind of power you would be wise to find a 750. The 600's are completely gutless. I rode the shat outta mine. Simple design=simple/cheap maintenance.
