The 48 is cool, fun, and fast for what it is. If you plan to ride more than an hour or so the 48 will be miserable. The stryker is an all day comfortable ride.

The 48 is an overpriced, underpowered, tiny-tanked POS. If you're also looking at the Hammer, V-Rod and Stryker, unless you're just utterly in love with the 48, look at them more closely.

The Stryker is a of a bike - it is derived from the V-Star 1300 and has one seriously UNDERworked engine. My gut tells me that with very little work, it would not take much to get that thing to eat a VRSC alive - but it will take work.

The Hammer? Meh - basic power cruiser, more looks than anything else.

V-Rod? Cant say a thing bad about it especially now that the pricing is down where it belongs. The Night Rod (AKA VRSCDX) is great if you are going to want to customize it at all. The Muscle (VRSCF) also wonderful, but has its quirks and some things cannot be easily changed.

I like the Victory one better...
The Harley one looks really cool, but I don't really like the rear suspension (19th century).
P.S. The Stryker is the best anyway in my opinion.

lots of em

I've ridden any a mile on a new sporty, although the victory looks like it would be a better long haul riding bike, looks like you settle in pretty nicely and it appears to be a larger, heavier bike

All the reviews about the Forty-Eight complain about the small tank (2.1 Gals). I ride a lot around town, depending on the location of the GF on turn I ride sometimes 160 miles per day (round trip)

wow...!!! Is really that bad???

What cruiser would you advise??? money wise I can not afford (right now) a $15,000 bike. (Hammer/V-ROD). I agree that the Forty-Eight is overpriced but I really like the looks.

IMHO if you are all that concerned about the resale value you should be investing your money not buying bikes.
They all lose value rapidly, sure the big twin Harley's do pretty well on resale but that has changed too. The days when you bought a new one for $15,000, rode it for five years and sold it for $12,000 are gone.
Really the best advice I can give you is the same as buying anything...
Look at the price, the features, the styling and then buy the one that a) trips your trigger b) you can afford. IN THAT ORDER.
Don't worry what everybody else says about your choice, nobody but you knows which one is right for you.
