Conversation usually goes like this,

Them: What kind of bike do you have?

Me: A ZX10R

Them: Is it fast?

Me: What's your definetion of fast?

Them: Will it wheely?

Me: pretty much any time I want it too, and a lot of times when I don't.

Them: What does that mean?

Me: you ever see those dumbasses running a wheely down the road and theri is rapped out?

Them: yeah

Me: I can do that without dumoing the clutch, Just twist the throttle.

Them: Wow, is it scary.

Me: Not really, I try not to ride like a dumbass

Them: You know they're dangerous, you could get killed?

Me: I could also have an anurism while taking a , and fall over dead, but it doesn't keep me from dropping a duece.

If it's some random person, I usually tell them a Suzuki. Or I might just say a fast one and they'll give me the usual "bikes are dangerous" speech. If they get annoying, I tell them it's a Kawasaki gixxer 1300rr. If they look like they might know about bikes, I just tell them a 750. If they're kids that look like they just wish they had a bike, I tell them it's a gixxer. If it's someone who seems like they are actually interested in talking bikes, I give the full GSX-R 750.
I bet that Kawasaki gixxer 1300rr can go about 250 mph. Wow.

I just say a Yamaha.

I tell them I have a busa and see what their reaction is so I can determine if I need to start walking. HD guys go 'Oh wow.. Nice', sports guys go 'I have a.....' but the ones that don't ride look like "wtf did you just say'.. I like seeing the facial expressions as they try to figure out the convo they just started.

I tellem a Super Duke, and 99% ask, "A what? who makes that?"

I tellem KTM makes it and its sort of a sportbike w/o body work. Then they say, "Oh KTM, how do you ride a dirtbike on the street?"....

and thats from motorcyclists.....

someone asked my best friend what kind of bike I had and her response was "a black one, duh" lol

Depends on who it is. If it's someone that I think knows bikes I say 600RR
If it's someone with no clue I say sportbike

They ask, "What kind of a bike do you ride"

I tell em, "I'm addicted, it's complicated, but no Harleys".

If they ask more... "My son and I both ride. We have 2 for the street, 6 for the race track, 2 for the trails, 2 minis, 1 motocross, one old one with a sidecar, one for dual sporting in Mexico... ".

Usual response is, "How does your wife put up with all that"

My response, "as long as it fits in the garage". Which it sometimes does, LOL.
