i had a blast, lots of guys pretty fast (at least faster than me). For my personal best i think the last two session i got down the shifting and brek points, now i need to work in some more speed. Thanks all.

mnovell, I dont think it was unsafe, but I know what you are saying. There were definetly some riders who were more comfortable and fast out there. Since it was my first track day its hard to say if they were to fast for novice. Anyone have any thoughts. Me personally started to take it easy on the straights and tried to work on my line to go faster through the turns. Ohhh O.K. I wasnt really comfy with the hard braking I tried it a few times and really backed off to be safe. Did have a blast though

Better to back it off the first time out then trying to back it in

It is always like that in the beginner groups. You just have people who are better riders but are new to the track.

lol swift, I pushed for a little, but turn one got my attention really quick. I got on the brakes to late and almost ate it. It was pretty cool to get the knee down in turn one (what a blast that was).

They probably did not tell you to stretch either. Or to start hydrating yourself days before you go. Popping a couple of IBprophen before you get going in the morning helps too.

At first I was scared to death when all those fast guys flew by me so fast and close! I almost quit after the second session, because I got so nervous! I just got Jim to ride with me for the next session til I got used to holding my own line and making everyone else pass me! And pass me they did!!! LOL! I know I was very slow in the moring sessions, but I used that time to really work on my lines and body postion. I feel I got much better the last 3 sessions and really started to pick up some speed. Still I was the slowest one out there, I didn't care I had a blast. And now looking at all the pics different people took of me I can see the improvement in my body postion and how well I held my lines. I am happy with how my day went, and I know that with practice the speed will come!
