Oh wow...! That's purty.. Still! Never knew of this bike. When I used to sell bikes in Austin, there was a guy askin for a R7. We all thought he was completely misinformed. "you sure you didn't see it in a video game? Cause yamaha doesn't make a R7.... ::snicker snicker::"

if you are that guy that asked about the R7 at woods fun center a couple of years ago... I'm sorry, I admit my ignorance... Haha

He's the guy who broke his collarbone on the SVX550, no? (editted after search: 04rsvr).

Remember. This was a very limited production bike based off the WSBK R7. If I remember correct, Haga (sultan of slide) raced one around 2000. those were the days. Foggy, bostrom, Haga, mladin. I miss that time.

been there and done that brag brag brag

Deeply regret selling it, mine had the full Akrapovic system inc in the stage 1 kit.

Fantastic to ride on the track but horrendous in heavy street traffic,
glorious noise comes with it

I'd love this thing

I know on mustangs you can pull out a plug that disables the odometer from counting, people do that on 03-04 cobras all the time to keep the resale value high.

no, on rotors with 70 you can still see the machining marks from the factory, this had some use

The stuff in the middle of the headlights appears to be residue from protective tape / film. In fact, those bubble things on the headlights look like the headlights still have the protective film on them. Every little scratch and scuff on this bike looks like the kind of stuff that would happen while sitting in a warehouse or from not being careful when assembling from the crate. The rotor? Inconclusive. The picture is in focus at the caliper and soft focus at the rotor. Hard to tell.

By the way, that flat black on the bodywork is very hard to keep clean and will show use, if there is any. I don't see any impact marks on the flat black parts on the nose, nor do I see any fingernail marks near the Dzus fasteners.

One observation:

These had a crankshaft/connecting rod recall. If that has not been performed, I would avoid this motorcycle, or at the very least, inquire carefully in to the matter and seek proof of the work having been performed. The crank/rod issues were very serious.

Absolutely, I would be more concerned about that than the markings.
Only the first "batch" had the crank issues though.
If it was recalled and done under warranty it will be well documented.

The rear rotor looks all wrong to me for a bike with that mileage.
The black is a to keep right, it scratches marks up so so easily.
