That must be showing kilometers per hour because i don't think that other bike or the cars were going 90+. If that was the speedometer I am looking at.

291 KPH (181 MPH) did not even seem close to the end of the R1-Ts speed range.

This would be cool to do on a Gix1000.

As an aside, have had lots of boosted cars, and would definitely go the TC route vs the SC route if both options are available. Note signature...

Something with the looks of a Ducati but the nastiness of this little ......It would be awesome.... and it would still handle great....You would be catching up to MotoGP bikes on the straights....LOL

If boost on a bike feels anything like boost on the car, its addicting and I would do it in a heartbeat but I cant afford to do that right now. I will have a turbod bike 1 day tho. Who wouldnt to power wheelie in 5th......

Sell your 1098, buy a D16 with aftermarket pipes for the relatively low $45K they are selling for now and be done with it. Less headaches, still a Duc, great sound, nice top end performance you want/need.

Oh, and...

Take that duc out to the track and learn to ride it like it was designed to be ridden.
You'll fall in love with it all over again when you see how good they get off the corners.
Keep it pinned until the bottom of turn 1 at TWS (Texas World Speedway) and come back and tell us how much more power you need.

One of the things i love about the 1098 is all the torque you have for pulling you out of the corner but the problem is the rev limiter kicks in at 10k rpm so if you ever ridden one you will know that as soon as you come out of the corner you run out of steam for the straight! I got no complaints about the low end, it is the high end that i am not happy about!

Wanting more power on a car or a bike is just like wanting more money in your bank..... You can never have enough, it doesnt mean you are going to spend it all but at least you have the option to do so if you wanted to and that is what keeps people motivated in life! Why do you think there are so many performance parts out there in the market? Do most people that buys them really need them? Now, do you have any mods on your bike at all? Did you really need all the mods because you are Rossi or simply because you wanted it and had the money for it?

Check into getting motor built to Superstock or better specs. Then regear it a bit and get the race ECU for it.

180 or so HP on a street bike is plenty for me... just saying..

My drag bike is another story tho...

Visit AF1 Racing forums....at least one person has experience with the system you are referring to in your querries. Go to General Motorcycle forum and what's in the shop thread, and look around in the Texas Mile threads, too.

My own personal opinion is to try to understand what it is that you want and why you want it/where you can use it. I started going to riding schools/track days with Code before I even spent the money to put a pipe on my bike, but that is a very personal choice.

Have you ridden a 1098R or similar on a track? Wicked fast. At atmospheric conditions without boost. You can pick up a decent used R for low $20's, and the newer 1198 R equivalent model has an even more robust TC system, IIRC.

If you are looking for the real brute feel of acceleration, find you a bad 2 stroke 500cc monster. THAT will at least give you some hair raising acceleration 'feeling'. They are visceral and have the sound and smell that might ring all your bells and blow your skirt clean over your head. Look around, there are several ex GP 500's for sale....course, you could buy a bunch of watches for what one of them will cost you. Oh, and splurge for a V4 2 st......it just has more of what the twin 2 st can give.

Climb the pipe full throttle on one of those and tell me you want more power and I will refer you to a good psychiatrist.

Oh yeah, what Tojo said: D16RR is not slow. TC? It's all in the wrist.

This thread and Alan's vids make me want boost. I have the nitrous set to hit from 6K-10K. Now that I am used to it I would like more. The boost hit would be sweet. Knowing its gonna keep getting stronger would be real sweet.

To the nay sayers.....why can't he just do what he wants? he could just spend $7-8k and put a blower on HIS bike and get what he wants.....why spend $20k or more for different bikes when he is 98% happy with his?

And what does riding school have to do with the OP wanting to put a blower on his bike?

Maybe he doesn't even ride it on a track so what good would buying another road race bike or road racing schools do him...?

The original question was about supercharging a Ducati, not riding schools or buying other bikes....and seriously.... 2 stroke 500s? Instead of a 200hp Ducati? Feeling fast and going fast are two different things.
