id say if you are gonna do it, do it right. build a motor that will handle the boost. make it have lots of powah, then let me ride it in the texas mile to see if we can get a duc over 200

I think it would be a kick idea! Build something different for a change..... I am not familar with that particular blower setup(Ill check the site out later) but if it is a well designed/fabbed kit, It would be a good match for a ducate power band....they are already torquey enough down low and in the mid range, these centrifugal blowers build boost with rpm increase so they really start screaming on the top end of the power range...right where you need it.

I think you would be in good hands letting Patrick do the install. He has several cars and a Jeep he has put blowers on and tuned....its definitely something left to the pros.

The only downside is if and WHEN it DOES melt something (pistons/head gasket etc etc)...it will be expensive to repair. You can't just hop on a forum and find a 1098 cyliner or head like you can a busa or 1000....BUT if you keep the boost low, the tune up conservative and always run the best 93 oct you can, you will probably be fine. I wouldn't run over 5-6 psi of boost at redline, especially without an intercooler.....and on a high $$ Ducati motor, I would give some serious thought to an Aquamist water injection system that activates around 4 psi.....It will be much cheaper then pistons, I promise.

5 psi should get you about 50hp or so.....So if your Duc is making 150hp to the wheel now, this should get you to 200. That should be plenty for a stock height, stock wheelbase bike and a very manageable powerband. Also at that level, the stock Duc rods/pistons "SHOULD" be ok, as long as it doesnt lean out or detonate.

You might check out Big CC Racing's website. They built a centrifugal supercharger kit for a busa that is really well thought out and works well. It will give you something to compare your kit to as far as quality of componets, fab, etc etc.

Good luck....I would love to see you build it. Just get the wallet out and keep it open from now on.... (Trust me on this....LOL)

Also I forgot to mention, on the fuel system, make sure you use bigger injectors and a 1:1 rising rate regulator with a good fuel pump. Don't mess with FMU (Fuel Management Units) that come on standard turbo/supercharger kits. Those things are nothing but problems. Spend the money up front and get a good, reliable fuel system.

How do you tune a ducati? do you flash the Magneti Marelli or just use a power commander? Either way it will need a lot of tuning so make sure who ever tunes it has experience with both.

BTW there has been turbo ducati's already built and even drag raced. Google "turbo drag ducati" and see what comes up....A guy a few years ago turboed a 998 I believe and it ran 8.60s... it can be done but it blew up a lot.
