Did anyone take 610 today 1-23-11?

Basically just a hello whoever-y'all-were. Took a solo lap around 610 after a laaaate breakfast today. Was going northbound @ Hirsh road and passed a group of about 5-6 going the other way, got a few waves. Would have been around 2pm-ish. Don't know if it was anyone from MH but I saw several rides going on today. Too busy fighting cagers to pop a hand out or chunk deuce, but if this was anyone here...

Don't know about you guys, but I do get joy out of riding the city (when there is little traffic of course)....

Turns are turns, and those exits can be fun, sometimes there isn't time to go on the back roads..

You should be able to ride anything casually.

Whoa there, take it easy on us noobs. In short defense of my position:

-riding exp-
1 group ride down backroads to Galveston
1 trip to Woodlands to visit friend
couple dozen trips to bar near 6 & Westheimer
the remaining 99% of my miles are to work and back, down I-10 Katy to Sealy

work 2 jobs, both full-time, ~65-90 hrs/wk

so everything is still new and adventursome... and I love it

Then take my bike into consideration:
beautiful 2006 'Zuki Katana 750, still stock except for the oil
- Clutch lever has slack about 1/2 way down
- carbs are clogged, or something
- worst, still have the 4 or 5 year-old original crappy dunlops on there

point is, I'm pushing about 700 lbs down the road (bike+gas+rider): curves + up & down w/ the overpasses + speed & I end up changing lanes whether I want to or not. Shifting's not smooth, engine bogs irregularly & tires have no grip. Tack this onto construction, debris, heavy-ish traffic and a freeway I haven't been on in years... I wouldn't exactly call it "casual".

I know, I know - pathetic excuse for a joyride for those of you familiar with twisties, riding sportier machines. Remember the first time your friend's sister showed you her girl-thing and it seemed like the best experience ever? So I guess I'm... like... losing my near-death-experience adrenaline-rush virginity. 'Twas a good day, it twas.
