, was it new? It takes a pretty old chain to snap that masterlink if it had one. Was it really loose? Even so it shouldnt have came completly off?
Hope you can get a ride otherwise someone on here would probably scoop you up

it new, manual says tension should be 35-40mm at it's tightest and if I measured correctly it was 36. Scott just called me, I think I'm gonna get Motorcycles Unlimited to pick it up, since it's gonna go there anyway.

just for future reference, how do you know when your chain flies out/snaps (other than the obvious looking down and seeing its gone)? also what do you do in that situation?

That sucks. Did you check the chain tension at the tightest spot of the suspension travel?

Buddy of mine had his chain fall off his Yamaha, took out a bung that sticks out of the motor that the front sprocket cover screws on to. Now he has a hole in the block and you can see a bearing from the outside there.

just got back from Motorcycles Unlimited. I did the link on the chain wrong.

Luckily no other damage was done, and I'm back on the road thanks to scott and Motorcycles Unlimited. lesson learned lol.

Were they like "sir, your chain is supposed to go on with a master link, not a twst tie"

I wish I could hear what they said about you when you left.
