tires on ebay

i have bought 2 sets of tires on ebay ....exactly the same thing. Just remember if your not mounting them yourself your local bike shop will charge you alot more to mount tires not purchased from them. normall about 30 to 50 dollars more. so you should factor that in to your decision.

Cheapest I've seen on Ebay for that tire is $119.00 PLUS $17.00 shipping.
I have that tire in stock at $128.95.
With tax that's $139.59. So you can have a new date code tire today for $139.59 vs $136.00 and wait on a questionable date coded tire......

I saw one for $117 shipped/no taxes yesterday...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

...so the difference is $23~. Granted, it's $25 but the way I see it (remember, I am brown) is 20%~ off

I am always buying for my 61, 64 or bikes and I try to do most of it through local small shops. Like I will lnot buy a damned thing from Woods Fun Center, they are complete douche bags but I will try to give my money to the smaller shops. I also buy all my car stuff at Austin Performance. Costs more than PAW or Summit but it helps the last hot rod shop in town.

If I have the money to buy new track tires, I get them from John at the track. I dont know him but I do know that he drives his out there every track day so that shows something.

If I DO buy take offs when money is tight, I will buy them from local racers even if they cost a little more to give them a little support.

What are a few bucks that most of us would spend at the bar anyway.

like I said, If the price difference is is less than 20-25%, then Ill keep it local, if its greater, Ill try to get them to price match, if they cant, then ill buy online.

THIS is why you should support your local shops if you can.

At what point does a new tire become "old"? A month? A year?
