Question EBAY TIRES: Anyone ever buy one?

The tire I want is significantly cheaper via Ebay (about $20-30 cheaper). Anyone have any experience with Ebay tires?

Support your local shop. eBay tires that I have seen generally have an older production date (not always). That $20 or $30 bucks spent with John at SCRC, Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited, etc is a better bet as you will get good service, a good product, good advice, and help keep a local shop running.

Chances are high they may match the price, or at a minimum explain why they can or won't match it.

My $0.02.

This.

Also you don't know if they're been kept outside to bear the elements (not good for inner liners).

Tires are the ONLY thing touching the ground when you ride, I forgot the metrics, but it's only a few inches of surface area at any given time.

One of the MANY areas you can't go cheap on a motorcycle.

I always look at any tires before I buy them to make sure they are new and top notch molds.

$20-30 is not significantly when it comes to your life.

Skip 1-2 of those deelish meals and you got it covered.

I say go for it. . .the best lessons are the hardest learned!!! Just think, you can be a good example for everyone to point and laugh at in the future when this topic comes up again. When you're sitting at home recovering from your crash (brought on by saving $20 and buying tires) you can increase your post count with constant over use of the word "deelish".

FYI www.jakewilson.com has Pilot powers in 120/70, 190/50 for $208 shipped for the pair.

I just got some. They are fresh. $50 to M/B locally so I'll get out for $260. No local shop will touch that.

All the forum nazis will be in here shortly to tell you how wrong you are by not "supporting local shops" and whatever else they posted in squoddy's thread. I say em!
