Back Protector

Know this might a bit tough for all you all but what is your opinon on back protectors? Do you have to have one for track days? Patricks checklist says to bring one but is it completely necessary? Which back protector is the best? Which is the worst? What is the middle of the rode version?

Thanks for your help.

I've been riding on the track for about 4 1/2 years now, and have been wearing a back protector from one day. In Feb. 2006, I took a nasty spill at T9 at TWS (Texas World Speedway). After I hit the wall, the bike slid into me, hitting me in the back... bruised a kidney, broke some ribs, bruised a lung, and had some internal bleeding. Had I not been wearing a back protector, I can only imagine what kind of injuries I may have recieved.

Saving a few hundred dollars, isn't worth the possibilities.

Definitely recommend one.
FWIW, Bohn is a knock off of the Knox design, they were originally the importer for Knox and basically "copied" the design.
One small caveat, at least until recently, Bohn did not truly have CE certification, it was "built to CE standards" according to Bohn.
Unforunately, there are no CE build standards, only a standard for impact absorption.

I got Spidi Back Warrior Lady for $165 (maybe was $125-135 during sale).
Not many brands make Women's back protector.
Smallest size for guys starts from 5'3" and I'm 5'2".
If I had a choice, I would've gotten Knox.
