I have sold my R1

I did it through cycle trader and you always get the scam artists sending you a phony offer with a cashiers check for the bike. I decided to play along just for the fun of it. I figured what the I wanted something to hang on the wall of my office so here is my phony cashiers check made out to me that I can now hang on the wall..

the bike is sold to someone else but I will have this forever

be careful of cashiers check

Con-artists, scammers are sooo clever.
I dont see a watermark on the check. But Its not that great of a picture.

How did you know it was fake? Don't you just call the bank or something?

Sometimes you cannot tell until 2-3 weeks later and then your bank will take the money out of your account because it was a fake. The best bet is that green stuff or take the person and check to his bank and have him cash it.

cash is the way to go, common sense goes a long way. If someone offers you 10k when it's worth 5k then it's fake.

Call the bank that is was drawn on. DO NOT call any phone number on the check, call information for the number of the bank, no number, well than there's no bank.
If you reach the bank, verify the check number, amount, who it's made out to and what account it's drawn from. If at all possible, take it too that bank and cash it before you release the bike. If you have to deposit iti into your account, have your bike ALSO verify it BEFORE they deposit it.
A word of advice; if it's after hours, or the guy is in a hurry, it's better to wait and take a chance to lose the sale then lose the bike.
