Tollroad - Easy Tag-Pay as you Go - Nothing

When you are on one of Houstons many Toll roads what do you do?
Do you have an Easy Tag?
Do you pay as you go?
Do you just go through the easy tag lane?
I never use the toll roads.

I only actually take the toll road about three to four times a year, so I just pay as I go.

well for a while I just rode the line, so the cameras couldn't see me. There's a catch though, the people inside see you and WILL report you. I got cuffed as a scare tactic and the cop told me. "They see the same red bike with the same gear every morning at the sam time, so I waited for you this morning and if you do it again you'll go to jail for real" Funny thing is, I calculated all the tolls I ran that way before getting caught, and it was several hundred dollars worth, but my fine was 20 bucks, and in court since the report didn't have my tag number they dropped the case

I have tags on all my bike and cars. I take it everyday. Funny thing is I'm never charged because my plate is tucked towards the front of the rear tire. I have the tag in my jacket pocket just in case they get the itch to pull me over.

hunh... never even thought about it. OK once but it was passing. I ride from Katy to Sealy for 99% of my mileage, to work and back. Rest is just local. On the rare chance I get to ride the city I'll just take another freeway, or scenic routes.

Here is from HCTRA.org

Free passage on the Toll Road System will be granted to current federal and state military members with Military ID through collector lanes. The military member will be required to present valid military ID and sign a non-revenue sheet for free passage. Free passage is not available on Toll Roads with no collector lanes or through combination collector/electronic tolling lanes if the military member's vehicle is equipped with an EZ TAG device.
This would seem outdated as they just look at my badge and write my name and branch. No signing is so much faster.

and...

Eligible vehicles will automatically receive the discounted tolling rate in qualified tolling lanes (EZ TAG Only lanes). No additional action, purchase, or enrollment is required.

Per Texas Transportation Code § 372.053, eligibility is limited to vehicles which are:

1. registered with the State of Texas and

2. displaying the qualifying specialty license plate for any of the following:

Disabled Veterans
Purple Heart Medal recipients
Medal of Honor recipients

Vehicles which are not eligible are required to pay the applicable toll.
Looks like one must be disabled or wounded. 'Cause I call B.S. if you're sporting a MoH tag.

I have tags in all 3 of my cars...

my location is near exit/on ramps that are not manned at all (or only during the day) so an EZ tag is a must. I don't use the toll roads often, but I don't see why not pay the $15 for the tag, save a quarter each time I go through a full price toll booth, and avoid those silly lines @ 11 pm when there are only two booths open. EZ does it all the way.

I have an EZ tag. Just makes things easy since i hit the tolls at least 4-6 times a month.

EZ Tag, my company pays for it and I go through about 4 times a day at least. Sure feels good when the pay lanes are backed up for 1 mile and I can just cruise right through
