I had heard that if your 8 or less mph over the PSL they won't bother you. I wonder if that is true? You are probably just keeping up with traffic right. If they single you out then that would be profiling.

Hmm....I thought they were always serious?? They've been like that ever since I can remember. Same goes for 2351, Blackhawk, 518, and any other road there.

There's no crime in Fwood, how do you think they make budget?

Back in the day I delivered in Friendswood for Fedex, I had an cop give me a ticket for doing 37 in a 35 by friendswood high school.

I guess it all depneds is said cop got laid the night before.

Yes, some will write you over for 1-2 MOH over the limit, and some let you slide on up to 10 over.

It was DPS both times. They are tired of the wrecks on 528.

He was cool about it but he had another guy pulled over before I could even get going again.

Watch out...

And I was doing roughly "the flow of traffic" but was ahead of everyone else.

They've always been serious, especially once they see you don't live here.

Didn't realize it was DPS both times.
Seems they are doing the same thing on I10 Katy Fwy.
That could also be because Parker is threatening job cuts though too...

as far as I know, there is no "keeping with the flow of traffic" in texas..

If it says 35mph, 45mph, 60mph that's the LIMIT...If you are 1mph over that, expect a ticket... As i have been told by many cops before, there is no "if is over but under this much, it's cool" I expect every cop to enforce it, doesn't mean I don't do it or don't do it infront of the cop (cuz I def have, just been lucky). I'm just not going to get all "I can't believe he stopped me" or "this cop is an /jerk/whatever for giving me a ticket for violating the limit" about it... .02

I am sooooo the opposite of FTP. I was "speeding" and not whining, he just told me they are "doubling" their efforts to get people to slow down.

This morning I saw the same DPS officer with someone pulled over the the exact same spot.

Just posted to give anyone passing though the wood a heads up. I drive through it twice a day, all year long and it's the only place I get pulled over
and I'm not even riding fast.

Should be easy pickings - lots of volunteers on that road.

it's about time they started pulling people over for driving like on 528 - you can't hardly pull out on that street anymore because of the volume and the people drive so fast on it.

BTW - there have been six people killed between Friendswood and Alvin in the last two years.

It's serious in "the Wood"

I always see cops up and down that stretch...always see people still speeding too...coincidence?
