haven't driven it since sat.
I'm not planning on driving it until I have gear and MSF
But I would rather make sure everything works and legit on the bike before I go off and spend 5xx-6xx on gear and msg
Nawmeen?

no, i'd rather have you spend ~$180 on learning to ride and getting legit ( a M license) esp. since you live in or near JV and their police force. i grew up in JV.
and know how dangerous 1960 is

would hate for you to put all the fresh gear to a test.........

like i said priorities...........your going in the wrong direction

MSF
GEAR
Bike

that the right way...........

You don't need to explain yourself to that guy. While he has a point, he gets a hard on for anyone who hasn't done MSF. If you tell him your riding around without gear, you might as well give him some KY and a towel.

Carbs are probably all gummed up and out of synchronization. Common problem wit older bikes, also check the gas tank and make sure its not all rusty in there. Have you tried starting it with the choke on, have you checked the gas?

gas tank is fine some rust on the sides none visible in the gas.
Tried starting it with choke on/off/half-way
Tried starting with reserve on instead of main still same thing cranks but no catch every 2-3 times I tried it will barely catch and start but die as soon as I try to give it a little gas....thinking about ripping apart the carbs and cleaning

Might be flooded, try it with the choke on and hold the throttle open all the way, if it starts to bog and catch a little it will start after a few tries, if it does start stay on the gas till it clears out and let it warm up till it idles. Just a suggestion, I know how bad it me off having a new bike that wont run

I have carbs syncs, compression tool, and anything else you may need. (I may even have some additional carb parts) fuel petcock is notorious for getting gummed up, but easy fix, as long as you don't strip the screws.

I don't have my kids this weekend, but I may have to work.. if not will gladly help you out

Same thing happened on my 97 zx6r when I first got it.
A carb clean, a new fuel filter and hose did wonders.
