Post up what gear you are looking for and the sizes. You might be surprised what is available here free or at very low prices.

I have a large jacket and medium helmet. Jacket is in great shape has a cold liner and everything , needs to be cleaned helmet is in decent condition, a couple of scratches. I'll take 50.00 for the pair.

Don't know where in Houston you live but you can try Cycle Gear as well to try on gear. Prices aren't too shabby either. There are also sites for great prices on gear like newenough.com and motorcyclecloseouts.com. Good luck man. You're on the right site for any info you may need. There's also a member here named GAU-8 that has a secaII wwho is currently in the midst of a rebuild. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Congrats on the bike! Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Perhaps you can post your height/weight. A lot of guys may be able to help you determine size by comparison.

Tru dat. But it'll only work for a jacket. Guys much larger than myself wear a lid two, sometimes three, times smaller than me.

How do you grow two inches? Please tell me - I'm only five foot nothing and I want to be 5'2.

I think in a jacket you'll wear a small. Azylum is right on about the helmet, though.

Congrats on the bike...are you going to use this for the MSF class? I thought you mentioned you were taking it this weekend.

If so, I'd just use their bikes...not as good but you don't have to worry about it.

Good luck with your riding and stay safe.

I'm also on the NW side, Copperfield area

You're only 18, right? You'll probably grow more. Most men continue to grow, but only a couple inches more, into their early 20's. Embrace your inner smurf. There are a few of us shorties around. We should start a club; with Kelly as our leader (I think she's 4'9 in shoes).

But unless you get fat, you'll still be in a small jacket.
