For speeding, nope. I've been stopped in a group via road block in Waller County. Let off without even a written warning. Pulled over for doing >100 and got we got our chewed out but no ticket or warning. Received one ticket for speeding on the bike and that was buy an off duty cop who following me for 15 miles, had the ghetto bird on me and when I stopped he called a patrol unit to write the ticket. Dismissed.

Devil's advocate here, if being arrested for speeding is one of your biggest fears why not drive the speed limit? Maybe you should confront your fear and try to make it happen so you can get over the anxiety

If you're going faster than what's posted, there is no doubt that you are speeding.
You are correct, subjective officer discretion in some cases whether to apply reckless driving citation. However being on a bike you are probably more likely to get reckless than in a cage.

I got a ticket three years back on I-10, BFE around Sonora. Radar clocked me 116mph at night (speed limit 65mph) and I was ticketed for speed only. Had I been on a bike instead of in an expensive sports car ticket might have been different.

In fact I haven't even had a speeding ticket in 16 years (I did get one, but it was dismissed).

Same. But I wouldn't say I am a goodie-goodie.

Not Really, there is more to it, but here is the guts of it.

Section 703 of the Motor Vehicle Code

(a) The party jurisdictions find that:

(1) In most instances, a motorist who is cited for a traffic violation in a jurisdiction other than his home jurisdiction:

(i) Must post collateral or bond to secure appearance for trial at a later date; or

(ii) If unable to post collateral or bond, is taken into custody until the collateral or bond is posted; or

(iii) Is taken directly to court for his trial to be held.

1. Never said "biggest"
2. I'm afraid of being hit from behind while stopped at a traffic light yet I still ride

I think they are refering to my comment....

I worry about a lot of other stuff while on the bike... Perhaps I exaggerated by saying bigeest, but it certainly is a worry of mine...

Plenty of tickets. Never arrested for speeding. I did get arrested for reckless driving, though. I was sliding my mustang around a corner. Oops.

I have and i was going 20 over.

Your attitude has a big part of that choice of your going in or not.

Actually, I believe one could be charged with reckless driving without speeding. For instance, changing lanes abruptly and frequently could be considered reckless driving.
