I can still get a set of BT-003RS cheaper locally even before shipping.

Just ordered a set of BT-016 from them and got them for $210 shipped. Sweet deal! Now if I could only get my front wheel off. Don't have the right tool and had to order one of those as well. it.

Shipping is free. And I don't have to leave my house.

Nowhere is convenient to me. I've been to K's several times for parts/service and they are either closed or out of stock. I gave up.

For an extra $20 I'd rather support my local guys...MCSS won't hurt if they don't get my business.

There are no LOCAL shops in my town. I don't feel the need to support Houston - they get enough of my money as it is.

Doesn't that mean you're going to have to go to another town to have them put on/balanced anyway?

You guys can start an argument out of anything. LOL. MCSS has the best selection, is usually cheaper, and shipping is free.

Squoddy, I don't blame you for buying online. I used to always buy them online....then I decided to support my local shops and easily spent $50-60 more then buying online. I bought a couple sets like that. Recently I went to a local shop (site sponsor here) and I got a pretty good price for Pilot Powers ride in/out for $300. I was happy about that until I realized my bike had a of a vibration on it now that it didn't have before. So I took my wheels off and went to a different shop and spent $30 to have them rebalanced(the first shop did not even have them close to being balanced right and scratched the out of my wheels to boot....) Now the bike is fixed and rides nice and I have $330 and some personal labor in tires....still not bad but.....a PITA for sure and considering I could have gotten the Pilot Powers online for $210 shipped and then spend $50 to get em mounted....I would have $260 in the whole thing. I could have saved $70 and had the same amount of labor in the deal and it would have been right the first time, with NO scratches on my once perfect wheels.

At my current mileage rate, I'll be another year before I need new tires. Bike is a 2007 with the same BT-014's that came on it when it was new.

I usually go thru at least two sets a year... sometimes 3. All street.

Silly. No. I have a *ahem* friend who does them for FREE in his driveway - which is only 2 miles from my house.

I usually have to buy a set of rear tires every year and one front. Most of my miles are commuting and my rear tire will get that wide, flat center.

I need to get a life.

And there's nothing you can do about it - sux. I guess if my wheels got scratched I would be the last one to complain considering I don't pay for the labor - other than a beer or meal here and there.
