There is a big difference between something hurting and getting hurt.

If you really want to get serious about it, studies have shown that human head falling from 6ft height can cause enough injury to kill a person. For most people, that means falling over from standing still could kill you. So... should we start wearing helmets as soon as we stand up?

ATGATT is a nice mantra, and I live by it everytime I get on a motorcycle, but we all have to weigh the possible benefits vs. hinderous to activity ratio and decide what we are willing to accept. Those of you who jog wearing a helmet, and wear CE-approved armor when cycling... more power to you.

And... I mean that in a nice way.

i saw a lady riding a freaking tiny little like mini moped. i think it couldn't of had no bigger than a 80-90mm wide tire in the rear, probably no more than 90cc's, on 59/610 around 1:30. had a helmet, but basically slippers, and pajamas, i rode by her like wtf? You REALLY wanna die. lol. I would of snapped a pic, but i was on my scooter. heh.

To me, these 50-90cc mopeds are just grocery getters in your own neighborhood. On a trip to Fitness Connection, I saw a lady park her scooter outside and later spotted her pedaling on a stationary bike. I thought to myself: wouldn't she be better off riding a bicycle to the gym instead?

These things can barely get out of their own way on 2-lane secondary street, much less on busy thoroughfares. They make a lot of sense in other countries congested city streets. Most places in North America, you'd better served with at least a 200-250cc anything.
