That Yamaha sounded like a F1 car except a little less intense.

not initially but i don't think they will be at all more than 1 second off the pace of this year. a little less hp means higher corner speed IMO also it won't be long till the engines are making more hp than the 990 if I'm not mistaken they are only like 20hp down on them now. and they are at the beginning of development. will be interesting to see how Nicky adapts I know Rossi can as he has ridden two strokes and has showed great corner speed as opposed to point and shoot of the bigger cc bikes.

I guess i forgot to mention that I see that happening eventually, of course at the begginning it will not be that way plus honda and big companies have the advantage (budget)

Agree!

An article was talking about how since MotoGP is now going down to 800's, that production bikes may shoot down to 750's (like suzuki) since a lot of people want to pretend they were MotoGP.

I think the idea is to make the bikes more "peaky" like a two stroke. People have been saying that the 990 is "too easy" to ride with the flat powerband , and they want to require an increased skill level in the riders to get the most out of the bike. Look for the 250cc guys to have an advangatge over the point and shoot style of the superbike guys.

LOL yeah well, that's what I have heard anyway. LOL

Alot of the writers have been saying the same thing. It's not for safety, it's for more exciting racing as long as you start in the 125 and 250 classes there in Europe. LOL. In other words it tips the scales in the European riders favor......IMO

i agree.......watch pedrosa.......look how well he did this yr on an "unfamiliar" bike.

btw:

"Loris Capirossi's very first day of testing on the 2007 spec 800cc Ducati Desmosedici ended with the Italian lapping just 1.4secs slower than his fastest lap in Sunday's Czech Republic Grand Prix!"
