Exclamation F3 help needed

ok, so i got a new battery, cleaned the tank, drained the float bowls. Ive got spark, ive got power, and we primed the carbs. Im not sure if the fuel pump is working though. The bike sounded as if it was trying to fire. I can smell fuel in the exhaust.

what is another step to get this thing running? i know i need to test the fuel pump to make sure it's working. Should the fuel pump loud enough for me to hear it? can i pull one of the out-going ( to carb ) fuel lines and see if it is flowing? or just use the ole voltmeter method?

ok, i took one of the fuel lines off, the fuel pump is flowing fuel. and we messed with the idle screw ^ as noted above. The only thing we can think of is leftover bad fuel in the carbs, or the jets possibly clogged ? any other ideas?

bay area blvd @ pilgrims point. near baybrook mall. we are waiting for the battery to charge up some more, then we are going to give it one more shot before we go get some beer, and tear into the carbs.
