What might be tough is getting sprockets for those Chicane's. I have the same rims on my old race bike and sometimes getting sprockets is tough. Vortex is what I'm using now.
John probably has EVERYTHING he needs. I lived at Klous's place when I had my slingshot. plus it was always cool to go stare at the two 89RR's that he had in the back....

You lived there because he's slow as molasses. That said, he's a super nice guy.

I just received an email from John Ulrich, the owner of Team Hammer Racing and Road Racing World Magazine. He contacted Michael Martin who was one of the original riders for Team Hammer/Team Valvoline Suzuki and sent him all of the info I presented about the bike. Michael Martin verified that he had raced this bike in 750 Super Sport trim and that he thought he may have some pics of it in action with him at the bars......He is going to look for the pics, scan them and email them to John Ulrich, who will in turn send them to me...... THAT is awesome....

John Ulrich nor Keith Perry (the original crew chief) could remember what this particular bike was used for as they did not race the 750s as much as the 1100s, and the fact that they got several new 750s/1100s every year. Luckily, Michael Martin still remembered it.....

Last night the Mecum Auction sold a 2003 Alstare Limited Edition GSXR 600. I think it brought like $4,000. Seems like your bike would be much more desirable. Maybe we'll see yours on TV?

I'm sure people will say "this old bike" can't keep up with the newer bikes(750/600s). As a reference... on my 90 750 I was running 11.0 at baytown.(stageone jetkit and a V&H exhaust. My roommate had a 91 with smoothbore(flatslides) and full Kerker. He was running 10.6. Both times were at stock riding heights. I'm SURE your bike is capable of low 10s. There are alot of todays bikes that are NOT able to run low tens because of the rider. I hope you take it to the tack i'm curious to see what it runs.

How sweet would it be if they really wanted to buy the bike back?

I'm not sure....I may run it someday. I would be very suprised if this thing ran anywhere near high 10s. They only made 85-90 rwhp back then and weighed 500lbs + filled up.....I think they were rated at 11.20s at like 120mph by the mag guys.

No telling what all is in this motor.....The compression is mild(stock-ish), head is ported and has stock 38mm CV carbs so......I'm thinking this one may break 100rwhp...MAYBE..... probably good for low 11s after some practice but.....nothing spectacular.

Still fun to ride an ole dinosaur around though....and no fuel pump, ECU, sensors etc etc to have to F with or worry about failing. Its like a John Deere tractor....
