I commuted first 11 years in Seoul, S. Korea (12 million populated city).
Never driven a car until few years ago.
I got my driver's license (for car) and started driving when I was 31 only because I live in Houston, Texas.
Since 16, I always rode motorcycle.

I did stay safe most the part.
But when I was younger, I did some crazy things that kept me from getting tickets.
I don't do that anymore and I rather not talk about it.

lolz similar story here. first drove a car when i was 21 (6 years ago). got on 2 wheels when i was arnd 15. scooters for the first 3 years. got a 350 cc standard bike when i was 18. used the bike for commuting for 8 years in India. never wore a helmet for first 7 years. did some more than stupid things. no tickets cos u hv to stop to get one:icon_bigg . pay a small bribe if there is nowehre to run. and then after 7 stupid riding years, had a bad crash, brain haemorrage, almost died...lol. i m now older, and LIL bit wiser and hv never been without helmet for the last 2.5 years.

- How long have you been riding?

about 2 years

- Number of bikes owned

three:

1986 Honda VFR700 Interceptor (totaled by roommate)
1990 Yamaha FZR1000 (sold to buy 3rd bike)
1997 Suzuki GSXR600 SRAD

- Total mileage under your belt

~20k miles? just a guess

- Crashes (hurt enough to remember) and total

4-5, all minor. 1st one alchohol related. i dont drink and drive anymore. others were in the rain, trying to stop too fast coming up to a red light. all gave some minor road rash, cosmetic damage fixed by zip ties. all of these were on the VFR, in my first 4-5 months of riding.

- How many tickets

6+ most of them for bs. actually, pretty much all for bs.

- How long have you had your current bike

3-4 months.

- How many miles on your bike

no odometer, so not sure, i would guess aorund 4k miles.

- How much track time

none, but i will be doing track days in the semi-near future, ill be a reguler at the track next season.

Some of these questions are bad karma, tickets, crashes. For your sakes, knock on woods. I don't mean anything bad but one time, a stranger walk up to us about 4 riders and asked which bike is faster. I commented mine and another, 5 minutes later I rode home and two of us got a ticket. Can you guess which ones?

Like I said I'm asking these questions out of my curiosity.
Also I thought these answers can help others before they go out for group rides.
Know who you are riding with.
I never ride with people I don't know.

I've been down and dropped my bikes many times.
But none were bad enough to hurt me or my bikes.
I know that it wasn't all me.
I just been very, very lucky.
So, I don't trust my luck anymore.
Everytime I ride, I check my bike, tires and my gear.
You'll rarely see me even in jeans and jacket.
I wear all my gear as much as I can.
I take my bikes in regularly to let professionals check with them.
I do everything I can.
But I can't control everything and that's the consequence of riding motorcycle and I'm willing to take it.
