Who does paint?

Got an idea I want done.. Got one quote at $1700 which is out my league.. (well in the time frame I want it done).. Of course I know he does good work, so trying to have some other quotes done. Who does or who do you know that does quality paint work? (with contact info if possible)

Do you want it Fast, Cheap, OR Good? You may only chose two.

$1,700 to paint a bike!?!? Yikes! That better be a 10 stage kandy pearl chameleon paint.

Good is the only criteria. Depending on how long they take will make me decide if I'm going to do it before or after daytona. So I guess choice two will be cheap.. (I'm not working on a budget.. That'd imply I had money to work with.. haha)

Actually there was some chameleon and pearl involved. lol.. Didn't think there was $1700 worth of paint on a bike. But shows what I know.. So really just price shopping at this point.

Yea.. but How custom was the job.. I'm looking more one off stuff vs complete to the wall custom.. I know of a bike that has a 10k paint job, but there's a lot of artwork involved, vs just laying paint. .. I'm not even CREATING a design.. I'm using factory designs that the manufacture uses.. lol

I've won lots of shows & my paint jobs are mostly 600-1400. (I'm not in Houston and don't want to paint your bike so this is for information only) Guys that charge 5-10k are mostly just selling you on their brand name because its not their paint that costs that much.

the most you will ever spend on paint + supplies for a bike will never exceed 400. its the labor that cost a grip

Hey marcus my man eddie at 3rd coast customs did mine in kandy kobalt blue and it was 1500, I might get a deal outta him for ya.. He does awesome work, He sprayed my last cadillac too, 4500 starting out for cars, so the bike was pretty cheap imo. All he uses is HOK and PPG, no cheap paint. You get what u pay for.. What's good aint cheap, and what's cheap aint good, unless you go to Tim for the powdercoat.. He's awesome, work is supreme & very cheap.

yes actually it is quite easy to spend more than 400 bucks on material. a quart of dcu-2022 "clear coat" WITHOUT hardener is 120 bucks by it's self. then the hardener, reducers, primers, surfacers, sealers, two different undercoat hardeners, and of course base coat. which with some colors i've seen as expensive as 230 a pint. thats not including sand paper from 400 to 2000 grit or rubbing compound and glazing compound, masking tape, thinner for clean up.

of course thats what it is, most of the time you are paying for the signature, but also, the guy (whomever) got the "name" by being top notch, so you get what you pay for .
