I upgraded!

I'm going from this

256s9hh

to this

256scab

House looks because I'm a redneck.

Nah these pics were taken in the middle of installation, the new tank is six and a half feet long and I had a hard time figuring out where to put it.

The water looks mooky because the sand is still stirred up from adding water in, even though I put the sand down first, and poured the water onto a plate it still got a little cloudy, since the picture was taken though it's gotten a lot better and should be crystal clear by morning. It'll be another two days before I can stock it though (according to the guy I bought it from) since I used well water to fill it. Thats fine with me because I've got a lot more to add into there (the other rocks and background and lighting system and power heads etc etc)

It's a freshwater tank for now, and after a year or so of dinkin' with it I'm gonna go for the bigleauges and make it a reef tank.

You going to go full on reef tank or just salt water?

I like cichlids, nice color, hearty, and long lasting. I don;t have time for salt but for those who do, it looks great!

Congrats on the tank, enjoy.

I don't know what kind of fish I'm going to stick in there just yet, the guy I got the tank from is a big fan of cichlids, he had the african kind.

I've got two days basically to figure it out though, I need to get some plants to put in there too.

In the old tank (ten gallon) I have a plecostimus(sp?) a Dragon fish, and two other cheap fish. I got them to 'practice' with I guess, they've survived the last couple months so I wanted to move onto a bit bigger system, didn't plan on going quite this big (135 gallons) but I got a deal too good to pass up.

When I do go onto a saltwater setup, I'm going to go with a full reef system, I'd like to have some invertibrates and the whole nine yards, from what I've been learning though, this is extremely difficult to maintain as far as keeping everything balanced. I know I couldn't handle it now but maybe after some experience with these guys I'll be able to handle it.

Any suggestions on cool fish/plants?

The cychlids are a very voracious specie. Make sure the other fish are compatible or your tank will have carcasses floating in it.
Cool.....

Tank looks good now, got some fish stocked in it, I went with semi-aggressive stuff because they fall into the master plan.... when they get bigger (1 foot range) I am going to begin the "initiative" where I train them to be uber-fish by chasing them around the tank with this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Remote-Control-S...QQcmdZViewItem

The ones who survive, will be able to train the others, the ones who don't... were never meant to be.

Pics coming soon.
